Looking to replace the air filter in my 2005.5 2.0T. I'm normally inclined to go K&N, but have read mixed reviews. If I get it and wash in to remove excess oil and dry first, does it even make enough of a difference to be worth it? I've also read the BSR filter is better since it's non oiled but still has some gains. Any opinions or the two? Or is it really just not worth it and better to stick with an OEM style one?

Cutting out off throttle
Hi all, I have a B5 which mostly runs fine but sometimes from start up it cuts out, ie the engine will run only on acceleration, the moment i lift off it dies, it'll bump start with a jolt or start easily off the key if I'm stationary, after a couple of miles it runs fine again.
Today I cleaned the throttle body and MAF but found a hose from the air intake to the crank breather had gone really soft and the crank breather a sort of S shaped plastic chamber was broken, I replaced the chamber and up rated the hose to something a lot stronger, car hasn't gone bad again yet but I've only gone home in it, 5 miles, could this have been the cause?

I think this is my first post here. Like the title says, new to this place, not to tuning :)
I recently sold my baby, 93 GMC typhoon. with years of tuning, I got her to run a 12.2 on all stock engine.
I am about to pull the trigger on a 2000 A6 2.7t with 125K miles who's prevoius owner was a microsoft guy. The guy new absolutely NOTHING about cars and he had it serviced @ the dealer for everything. It has a clunking sound when turning R and L at certain speeds. Dealer said it was upper control arms and not CV joints. The car I'm looking at has 125K miles on it. The prevous owner had the timing belt & water pump replaced @ 110K miles. When I looked @ the car, the car was overheating. I turned on the heater and it did blow hot air, so I was not convinced it was the thermostat. The owner took the car to the dealer and it was in fact the thermostat. I suspect the mechanic this guy took his car to took some short cuts becasue he did not replace the thermostat when he did the waterpump and timing belt. Anyway, the problem is fixed and the seller is willing to sell, I"m ready to pull the trigger once I do a full inspection next week.
The only tuning I"m planing on is the APR stage 1 chip and maybe an upgraded DP. I want a nice car I can just drive with some decent power and fuel milage. I'm done with the tuning, just takes too much time and energy. The idea of putting in a chip sounds fine to me. I do want the VAG-com tool to check codes & to to problem solve the car in the future if need be.
That being said, I found some VAG-Com stuff on ebay with cable and CD. I think one of the titles of the VAG-Com software was;
VAG-COM KKL 409.1 OBD2 USB Interface Cable KKL for VW/AUDI/Seat/Skoda/Volkswagen
Is this all I need to check codes and such on the Audi? Or do I need the Ross software?

It's relatively common to hear about unethical valets taking a joyride and wrecking high-performance cars. However, a recent 'accident' in Monaco might be one of the weirdest cases ever. Of course, now the lawyers may get involved.
Andreas Belzek, owner of tuning firm Prior Design, was driving his highly modified, black with gold pinstripes, widebody Audi R8 (pictured above) to the Hotel de Paris in the famously rich city on the shores of the Mediterranean. Upon arriving, he was going to check in but wanted to park the supercar himself, which was against the hotel's rules. He protested to the valet but eventually gave in and handed over the keys. Then the problems began.
The Audi barely moved before the valet herniated a disk in his back and couldn't leave the car. The police and paramedics arrived to the scene, which had to be quite a crowd in a city as tiny as Monaco. To get the guy out, the rescue crew had to hook him to a special hoist and carry him out, according to Germany's Focus Online . Belzek claims the efforts to save the man caused roughly 10,000 euros ($13,622) in damage to the car's carbon fiber, Alcantara and Nappa leather interior.
Belzek was furious about the damage and was likely even more angry when he learned that the hotel wouldn't be paying him. It claims that the rescue workers caused the damage and denied responsibility. Prior Design posted the following message about the accident on its Facebook page:

A6 Quattro 4.2L Transmission Issue
Hey everyone I'm new to the Audi scene I just purchased a 2000 Audi A6 Quattro with the 4.2L V8 Drove awesome when I first got it now the transmission when I go to take off only sometimes acts like it goes into neutral then bangs into gear I think in the 2 or 3 gear range out on the road it drives like a dream and when it goes back into gear grabs just fine. I do have the abs module off right now getting rebuilt could that have anything to do with it? Also maybe the valve body on the tranny I have read a little on that could that be the problem? I have changed fluid and filter didn't seem to help.
Please any help would be awesome!

2005 A3 1.6FSI issue
Hi guys, hope someone here can help me.
I've had a 2005 A3 for 3 1/2 years, and not long after I bought the car the emission warning light came on the dashboard. I took it to a local garage who did a diagnostic check and said it was just a faulty sensor in the exhaust system, and cleared the light. However about a month later the light came back. As it made no difference to how the car behaved I ignored it.
Then I had it serviced about 2 years ago and it came up that the Catalytic Converter had gone (£600 later it was replaced and the light had gone) But again, a month later it came back. Numerous services and checks later and I always get the same response (faulty sensor)
Then, last night, driving at about 50mph and the car starts juddering fairly noticeably, and the emission warning light starts flashing?! I pull over and look in the owners manual for any clues as to what it might be but nothing. I manage to nurse the car the last two miles home and park it up on the drive. I had a listen to the engine and there is an intermittent whirring that wasnt there before.
Does anyone have any idea what it might be? Will the car even be ok to drive to a garage to get it looked at?

So, I decided to buy a 2001 audi a4 1.8 off a family friend. The car been sitting for 7 months, it ran fine before they left sitting in their driveway. Before I started, made sure to change oil, New gas, New battery, checked fuel pump, fuses etc. After all that the car cranked but never turned on. I notice the rpm wasn't jumping while cranking, so I changed the crankshaft sensor, no luck there either. Anyone have ran thru this problem? I did notice the intake was sucking air before I installed the crankshaft, now its not.

Audi a4 2004 Quattro leaking coolant?
Hello guys, first off thank you very much for taking the time out of your day to attempt to help me solve my problem highly appreciate it, Anyways so iv owned a audi a4 2002 Quattro for over a year now, never had no problem, had regular maintainence ETC beautiful car I love it. But recently I noticed my coolant has been draining at a very rapid speed, I literally pour the coolant in I drive about a mile while its all ALMOST immediately drains straight out, so I don't drive it around much, is this a blown head gasket? I have no white smoke, car drives fine, over heats around 30-40 minutes of driving, all I know is when I pour it in it its fine, I drive around 20 minutes, and than BAM my coolant light goes on/oil light comes on, but yet my oil is at a proper level, I noticed my coolant/water is all drained out though however, Three questions, why would my car indicate I need oil, when I have oil in it? thermostat? and what could cause my car to drain to fast? I figure it was the hoses, so I took her in I was quotes 700$ to replace the lower, and upper radiator hose is this a good deal? and lastly, could I have a blown head? my car does not over heat it stays normal, just says I need to add coolant/oil but the oil is fine..should I swap the thermostat out? than replace the hoses? can I get a good quote? thanks for your time even if no one replies, appreciate it have a great evening!
Mmi problem
I have a 2004 Audi A8L and my MMI stopped working....so I bought the Optic loop tester and checked my CD changer, Navigation and Radio and when I checked my amp found out that the AMP was bad.....once I unplug the optic wire from the Amp everything started to work but no sound.So I ordered a amp from Ebay with the same model number and that did not fix the problem.Could the amp be bad???Any suggestions.

New to me 01 A4
Just got a new to me 01 A4 Avant, 1.8T engine, 5sp. Seems like a well maintained car for its age, but like all cars this old it has a few things that need attention. And I wanted to ask a few questions here about some of the things I think this car needs:
First are a couple of noises I am trying to track down. The first happens whenever the car is in gear and engine braking. Sounds like a low rumble. It goes away if the clutch is pressed in, and come back when the clutch is released. I was thinking CV joints or maybe driveshaft bearing. Any thoughts on this?
Second noise sounds like sheet metal hitting something whenever I go over bumps or on a washboard road. From inside sounds like it is coming from the front passenger wheel area. Any likely culprits here?
This car also has the infamous missing pixels on the dash display. Typical missing rows. I understand one can send the cluster away for repair, but before I did that, I thought I'd ask if anyone has fixed this problem by cleaning and reseating the electrical connections on the back of the cluster?
Lastly I want to look into what I think is low rpm turbo lag. This engine does not seem to get going until ~3K rpm. Just wondering if that is normal, or if it is pointing to a problem. Also, possibly related, is there any easy way to tell if a PO had the car chipped?

Front carrier replacement
Bad news the Old Audi was wrecked last night I am going to replace the carrier and hood not a huge problem. I have several audis to choose from but they are not turbo cars, is there a problem using a front carrier off a 2.8 liter for my 2.7t. Not sure if there are clearance issues with the inter-coolers. Steering Wheel Tiptronic Shifter Buttons
Trying to figure out which wires do what on the steering wheel shifter buttons. Experimenting is starting to get costly.There's a blue wire, a black wire, a brown-striped-brown wire (really?) and a brown-striped-red wire. I typically associate brown with ground on German cars, but since there's 2 brown wires, that's not the best indicator. Or maybe one of those is supposed to be some kind of German yellow...
Anyways, help would be appreciated. I already fried one of the switches by randomly jabbing 12v and ground wires around.

2010 (B8) Brake Upgrade - need guidance

missing cabin air filter holder
My dad and I noticed water leaking into my audi A6 year 2004. When we found the place the water was leaking in from we noticed that the part that holds the cabin air filter was not a stock part and doesn't fit the car correctly. Anyone know where I can order the correct part?

Daimler opened up its archives for research into its Nazi affiliations for one book published in 1990 and another in 1998. The Quandt family behind BMW had its public catharsis in 2007. The ties between the National Socialists and the Porsche and Piech families have almost rendered the Volkswagen Beetle some kind of cult tchotchke of the Third Reich. And it's not just automakers called in for cleansing: Deutsche Bank credit helped build Auschwitz, Hugo Boss made Nazi uniforms, patriarch of food and frozen pizza giant Dr. Oetker volunteered for the Waffen-SS. As one historian said, for any business that wanted to stay in business during the war, "no company was really clean. Everyone had to resort to slave labor when their own workers were fighting at the front."
Audi is the latest to go public with findings from an in-depth study of the Nazi-affiliated past of Auto Union, its predecessor company, and the "Father of Auto Union" Dr. Richard Bruhn, the man who headed it pre- and post-war. Commissioned by Audi, written by Audi's history department head Martin Kukowski and University of Chemnitz historian Rudolf Boch, its findings are just as severe as those already heard so often over the past 20 years. Among other discoveries, the study found that not only did Brun manage the use of more than 3,700 forced labor camp workers from seven SS-run camps, 16,500 forced laborers that didn't live in camps worked in two more factories; Bruhn wanted even more laborers but couldn't get them because of the battlefield situation; and that Auto Union had "moral responsibility" for roughly 4,500 workers killed at the Flossenbürg concentration camp. The study found that disabled workers were routinely sent to the camp and executed there.
Audi works council head Peter Mosch said, "I'm very shocked by the scale of the involvement of the former Auto Union leadership in the system of forced and slave labor. I was not aware of the extent." The company is figuring out how it will respond to the findings, so far working on changing the online profile of Dr. Bruhn on its history pages on Audi sites around the world, and considering stripping Brun's name from the street that bears it and from company offerings like pension plans. 1997 audi a6 c4, hardshift/sticky gas pedal
Hello, Like the title says I'm having problems with my throttle getting stuck and my transmission is " jumping hard "
into gears, as well as hesitating to up shift/down shift /not shifting at all at times.
I have a 1997 a6 Avant c4 2.8 12v with 125k miles ( Quattro, automatic). I am the second owner and this car was fully maintained at an Audi
dealership before I got it. As far as I know the transmission has never been worked on. The only thing I had done at
a Volkswagen dealership was having the radiator replaced, ( two times, they didn't use a genuine audi radiator the first
time and it cracked ) and Iirc they have to use a special tool when doing so for the ATF. However this was over 20k miles
ago and the transmission has had no problems until now.
So just before I started having these problems I did a timing belt/water pump/thermostat job on the car ( blauparts kit,
didn't change the seals though ) and change my valve cover gasket. I also took off my throttle body so I could clean the
butterfly really good in front and behind it. Now after doing this job the car sounded GREAT. I even drove it two times
on a 3 hour trip ( going 90+ over I80 from Reno to California lol ) and the car did so well!!!. So then I left the car
parked for a few days in front of my dads house and I started to have these problems.
The car will shift/jump really hard into first and once it gets going into second ( around 20 mph ) its like it can't
decide weather to upshift or down shift. And another things its doing is, I will floor it and it wont kick down into
overdrive. It will just slowly and I mean dog slow get up to speed. Now it won't do this every time however!
Another problem that just started at the same time is my gas pedal seems limp/sticky. It was getting stuck so I sprayed
all around the linkage with silicone lube and also around the hinge on the gas pedal. This helped and the throttle is no
longer getting stuck, but it still feels sticky and doesn't feel like its returning to the proper position when I let
off the gas.
Do you think I messed something up when I put the throttle body back on? ( I've made sure the linkage cable isn't impeded
all the way to the firewall)
Is it possible im missing a spring somewhere in the gas pedal? does it have one?
Could there be a vacuum leak causing the shifting problems? or does this sound related to the linkage not working right?
Or am I just having bad luck and my transmission needs work?
I think what ill do next is look for vacuum leaks, and take the throttle body off again and see if something inside
around the butterfly is getting stuck.

More than likely, you are going to replace the radiator in your vehicle at least once. The joints where the cores meet the end tanks tend to get weak and are the first place to spring a leak. Impacts to the fins themselves can cause holes to form. Corrosion and clogging from the inside can make cooling less than effective and compromise coolant flow. Replace your leaking unit with a quality replacement and get that jug of coolant out of your back seat.
This is a factory original style radiator from Valeo and will fit perfectly into the stock location.
A great replacement with all the proper connections.

Quattro - turbo and clutch kit upgrade - help needed
Hi there,
I own an A4 2.0T Quattro MT year 2010 and upgraded the ECU to Unitronic Stage 2. I installed a high flow air filter and 3" downpipe.
I want to step up to Stage 2+, but for that I need a K04 turbo, larger intercooler and a brand new clutch kit.
Is the K04 plug and play?
The stock clutch does not even stand for the Stage 2.
Can anyone please tell me brands and where to get a K04 turbo (ball bearing), larger intercooler and clutch kit for Stage 2+ (350HP aprox), certainly for a longitudinal engine Quattro Manual Transmission?
Any comments will be highly appreciated.

Pioneer AVH-X2500BT
So I just got my Audi yesterday, it's a 2005.5 A4. It has the Audi Symphony system, no Bose no navigation. I have a Pioneer AVH-X2500BT from my old car I want to swap into it, but have had trouble finding a reliable answer on which bezel, wiring harness and antenna adapter to use. I already have the e-brake override and steering wheel control adapter from the old truck that should be specific to the head unit and universal so that I can still use those same items, hopefully.
Anyone have a link or part numbers for the other install pieces that they know for sure work with the options and setup in the A4, and maybe wiring diagrams? Any help would be awesome, thanks!

Knocking sound from rear right of my Audi A4 B7 2005
Guys I seriously need an opinion.
I had this knocking sound for a hell of a long time and it irritates me to death. Each time I hit a road with little bumps etc I get this metal to metal knocking sound.
Today I jacked the car and did a little inspection.
I found the following. See the picture. What precisely is this? Can this may be the root cause of my knocking sound?

No start issues
Has anyone had a no start issue before? I just did a compression test on it.
Cylinder 1 had a 60, 2 75, 3 90, 4 122, 5 116, 6 119
I installed new spark plugs, and wires, and still no start.
It started earlier, but misfired bad before I compression checked it.
Engine shakes rattles, and pops and spudders.

MAG 1Transmission Fluid, LT71141
Hi,
My A6 Tiptronic box is due for a 100K fluid and filter service. The "Lifetime" fluid has reached the end of its life.
I was going to get 12 L of Pentosin ATF and do 2 changes, around $160 plus the filter at Amazon. Amazon also has MAG 1 full synthetic multi vehicle ATF that is recommended to be used where LT71141 is specified. At $34 for 6 L it looks like an economical alternative to Pentosin ATF 1. Pentosin is not OEM for ZF transmissions anyway, ( its an expensive DEXRON III ), so I am leaning towards the MAG 1 ATF.
Any one used the MAG 1 ATF in an Audi ZF box ?

Automatic High Beam Assist - 2013 A8 LED's???
I have a 2013 A8 with the LED headlights. Did I read the manual correctly that if I have the LED highlights, I also have the auto high beams or was that a separate option? I tried to set them in the garage today but couldn't get the automatic symbol to appear. Thank you!
A4 B5 1998 2.4 30v quattro (80000 miles) cranks but won’t start
OK, full story. Had car 3 years – only issue has been coolant temp sensor needed replacement. Other than that it’s always started well – been a good runner.
Heard a rumbling noise in engine bay for few days particularly at low revs, and turning with large steering wheel displacement - forum searches indicated maybe an alternator freewheel pulley issue. Went to wreckers to see similar car from same year – noticed the pulley was a single solid item so just purchased new serpentine belt and tensioner.
Tried to start car to move into garage – wouldn’t start. Bit of vapour emitted from front under the hood when cranked for 10-15 seconds.
Opened up hood and noticed a lot (more than a bucket) of water surrounding battery – drain holes were plugged. Unplugged the holes.
Put front into service position and fitted serpentine belt and tensioner.
Engine wouldn’t start - cranks but doesn’t start – feels a bit rough when cranking as though almost trying to fire on one or two cylinders. RPM on dashboard instrument panel never moves when cranking.
Scanned many times (scanned each time I’ve tried something) now with Ross-Tech vag-com
Various faults have included (they come, I clear them, sometimes they reappear, often not):
Battery voltage too low
Throttle body adjustment not reaching lower stop
Injector open circuit (all 6 injectors – this has only happened once)
Immobiliser immobilising engine.
Currently there's no codes for the engine
Inmobiliser light has come on a few times during cranking attempts– swapped key to other key and issue away. Wait for ages, or recharge battery overnight and immobilser issue goes away.
When cranking, the RPM does increase to 120 RPM on the ross-tech group 1 ( or else 2 or 3 ) – not sure where this is measured from, the crank position sensor or the cam sensors.
Have unscrewed petrol feed at fuel rail and checked - there is fuel at rail.
Unplugged coolant sensor and camshaft position plugs - all plugs seem OK.
Have checked spark plugs – they get wet (implies injectors and pump and ecu working at least sporadically – also implies crank sensor also working I think)
Pulled two spark plugs and cracked while they lie on engine – get yellowish spark so bought new spark plugs.
Opened up ECU box and unplugged it – some corrosion on two corner pins in smaller of two connectors – cleaned off. Rest of interior of box dry – suspect corrosion was there a long time – no wetness or dampness in plastic box. Opened up ECU itself and it looked fine inside – no sign of corrosion or wetness.
Injector common voltage when key on but not cranking is around 4.5 volts – when cranking it goes to about 12v. With voltmeter the grounding line changes implying ECU is grounding injectors (at least sporadically).

New spark plugs getting wet – covered with blackish oilish stuff – possibly petrol and carbon from cranking. Took all spark plugs out for evening to let accumulated fuel evaporate and reinserted – still not starting.
Took back off plastic manifold to look at back of throttle plate and intake at throttle body – seems good and clean – small amonut of oil from PCV system in black plastic cover – cleaned off.
Removed and cleaned up grounding cable and tested – seems to be 1 ohm resistance.
Would like to unplug lead into coil pack thing (3 items that spark plug leads plug into) on front of engine but can’t figure how to unclip it, to see if it’s receiving 12V.
The varying fault codes imply to me that there's a short somewhere – but spark and fuel into cylinders imply the ECU and sensors are working.
Haven’t checked compression but have no reason to think that’s an issue since it worked then it just wouldn’t start.
Anything obvious that I’m missing? I’m stuck (literally) at this stage, and don't want to be wholesale buying and replacing senors, ecu or wiring loom just yet.

Heard a rumbling noise in engine bay for few days particularly at low revs, and turning with large steering wheel displacement - forum searches indicated maybe an alternator freewheel pulley issue. Went to wreckers to see similar car from same year – noticed the pulley was a single solid item so just purchased new serpentine belt and tensioner.
Tried to start car to move into garage – wouldn’t start. Bit of vapour emitted from front under the hood when cranked for 10-15 seconds.
Opened up hood and noticed a lot (more than a bucket) of water surrounding battery – drain holes were plugged. Unplugged the holes.
Put front into service position and fitted serpentine belt and tensioner.
Engine wouldn’t start - cranks but doesn’t start – feels a bit rough when cranking as though almost trying to fire on one or two cylinders. RPM on dashboard instrument panel never moves when cranking.
Scanned many times (scanned each time I’ve tried something) now with Ross-Tech vag-com

Audi celebrates diesel milestone with triple-charged RS5 TDI concept

Diesels are typically slower than their gasoline counterparts, but leave it to Audi to turn that notion on its head. After dominating Le Mans and the international endurance racing scene under diesel power for the better part of a decade, the German automaker toyed with the idea of an oil-burning R8 for the road and ultimately made its first performance crossover a diesel. It's made the letters TDI a battle cry, and now it's yelling even louder with the RS5 TDI concept.
Set to be unveiled in a couple of days at the Leipzig Auto Show to celebrate 25 years of the TDI engine, the concept ditches the gasoline-burning 4.2-liter V8 in the production RS5 in favor of a 3.0-liter V6 twin-turbo-diesel with an electric supercharger added on to combat turbo lag. Output comes in at 385 horsepower and 553 pound-feet of torque, which means that while it has 65 fewer horses than the gasoline model, it packs a staggering 236 lb-ft more torque.
The result of the triple-charged madness is a 0-62 time around four seconds flat, trumping the 4.6 seconds for the road-going model. Groundhog Day – Short to Plus: P2296
Every morning my 2005 AUDI A6 3.2 with the engine cold, I start the vehicle and within 2 minutes (1 min. 45 seconds) she throws an ESP Fault with two codes P2296 (Fuel Pressure Regulator Valve;N276 Short to Plus and P1653 (Please check DTC Memory of ABS Controller). I could not find any other ABS codes. If I am accelerating when the Fault occurs I get a shutter, if I coast through it I don't feel much of an effect.
After she reaches full warm up and I turn it off/on she throws no more ESP Fault or codes and runs fine all day. Warm it up halfway and I get the Fault/codes again. If I clear the two codes they will not return the rest of the day otherwise the codes are stored even though she throws no more Faults. Next morning well, I hope you saw the movie, it's Groundhog Day again.
AUDI and I have attacked this going after the P2296 without success. AUDI cleaned throttle valve, replaced HPFP, rewired from connector to HPFP. I replaced fuel filter, replaced High and Low Fuel Pressure Sensors, cleaned carbon Intake Valves, replaced fuel pressure regulator valve, tried another throttle body. Result is no change.
I am becoming convinced the ESP Fault/codes are somehow related possible due to a bad connector. Any ideas?

The goals of the Street Survival program are to teach teen driver students some of the basics of car control, to enhance their enjoyment of driving and to improve their competence as drivers. We want the students to understand how their actions govern a car's responses, and as a result to become safer, more effective drivers on the road.
The students will become more observant of the traffic situation they find themselves in. They will learn to look far enough ahead to anticipate unwise actions of other drivers. As the students master the application of physics to drive their cars, they will make fewer unwise driving actions themselves. They will understand why they should always wear their own seatbelts, and why they should insist that their passengers wear seatbelts, too.
Students will learn how to properly use their own cars based on the physics of car control. They will learn how their cars feel and sound just before and as they exceed the limits of tire adhesion in a controlled situation, helping them to avoid accidents in actual everyday driving situations where they might experience problems.
During the event, students will maneuver their cars through exercises laid out using orange traffic safety cones in a closed parking lot. They will experience each exercise element several times, in order to learn from their mistakes and to improve their skills. A trained driving coach will accompany each driver to provide real-time feedback while performing maneuvers. There is no stopwatch, nor head-to-head competition with other cars. The students are here to improve their skills, not to compare themselves with someone else.
The exercise elements are laid out in advance by the event chairman and are designed to be fun, safe, challenging and educational. Each element will teach the students a specific skill or group of skills.
Safety is our prime concern.

However it is in perfectly sound mechanical condition. had it on the lift the other day and not one drop of oil underneath and many who see this car say it is one of the strongest E36 motors they have seen. I live in Santa Rosa which is the M3 capital for those who didn't know.
There is also one spot on the hood where clear coat is fading as well as on both side mirrors which I have pictures of.
Sunroof doesn't work and headlines is sagging (very common on the e36 chassis)
I have outlined everything on my car and looking to trade for an Audi A4 1.8t MANUAL with sport or ultrasport package.
I have cash to throw on my end if that be the case but in that scenario I am really looking to have the ultrasport package. My car has the sport package and premium HK sound.

Recommended Audi service in West LA
Hi all.
Took my A4 in to the dealership today for it's service and was informed that my maintenance package expired a month ago and it would be about $650 for the service. The car is a 2009 but only has 17k miles on it.
So I'm looking for a recommended Audi service shop in LA, preferably on the West side. I will probably be taking the car there from now on.
From some review sites I see that FixCarNow in Palms is recommended. Any experience there?
What should I do on terms of future maintenance?

A3 sportback sline with se suspension
Hi All,
I am considering ordering an a3 sportback sline with se suspension.My dealership doesnt have this set up to test drive so i could really do with some advice. Has anyone test driven the sline with an se set up, if so whats the ride like? in general is there a massive difference between a 17 and an 18 inch alloy??

I am considering ordering an a3 sportback sline with se suspension.My dealership doesnt have this set up to test drive so i could really do with some advice. Has anyone test driven the sline with an se set up, if so whats the ride like? in general is there a massive difference between a 17 and an 18 inch alloy??

Help!! Did not set engine at TDC while changing cam tensioner seals
I have a 98 Audi A6 quattro 2.8L.
I'm working on replacing the valve cover gasket, half moon seal, and cam tensioner gasket as well as a newly discovered broken cam chain pad. This is all on the passenger side of the engine. I have already removed the metal cam caps closest to the driver side and left all of the cam caps alone closest to the passenger side (again, this is all on the passenger side of the engine). I did not put the engine into TDC before removing the caps, as the instructions from the parts store I got did not say to do so, but the forums say I should have. Post #13 here (http://ift.tt/1pmkeSX) states I won't be able to compress the adjuster, though I'm not sure how that'll be affected. Am I still a go to continue the process, or did I completely ruin things? Please help!

2000 hid bulb replacement cost
I have a 2000 a6 2.7t, factory hid headlight bulbs, the right one went out an I've been trying to find one cheaper than $90 at napa. Someone please help me out with a site with cheaper parts or a way to switch to reg bulbs.

Blower running but no air movement
Hello, I am hoping to tap into your collective experiences for an issue I am having with my 2001 S8. I am able to run the blower motor from low to high and everything sounds normal. The A/C is also working fine. However, a short while after starting the car, you can hear the tone of the air change and no more air movement from any of the vents. I have inspected the fresh air intake valve under the hood and it appears to be opening and closing just fine. It seems like there might be a second vent control that is shutting off the air from the blower to the vents. What's weird is I can press the Econ button and then I get air movement, just no A/C. Any insight you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Over heated and now wont start
Hi i have a 99 audi a6 Quattro 2.8 it sprung a lower rad hose leak on da highway had it towed back and fixed the hose it was sitting for a while because i work 10hr days and have a 9month old baby. But nun the less i got the hose fixed and filled it back up with antifreeze and it still wont start. Turns over belts starts moving and fan. Checked everything that has to do with the fuel system, checked the spark plugs all good. I figure its may be something simply or not but i just cant figure it out any help would help out a lot
Custom exhaust for audi a4 b6 1.8t
Recently installed a borla car back and now have my old custom system for sale. It is in 3 pieces and will need welded back together but is a direct fit. I'll have pics of it on the car on here and some off of the car later.it has a custom x-pipe and doc motor sports mufflers it sounds real aggressive but not to raspy! Would like 300 shipped.Thanks
