Block I
General to specific, specific to general – what does it mean?
General is an "overview" of something or the big picture.
Specific is detailed. Step-by-step process and practical application.
What does "logical" mean? What is your understanding? Do you think that it correlates with the common view?
I think of logical as common sense and also having to do with things like science and mathematics.
As for the common view? Well everyone probably has their own definition but sure.
How do you explain fractions on the dial of the clock?
Kind of like "slices." Ya know... like a pizza or pie or something?
What is a rule? What rules do you have to follow?
A rule is something put in place I believe to prevent discourse and keep things running smoothly. I follow most rules, though if I think one is harsh or unfair I certainly won't. Or if it's just blatantly stupid to me I might try and "sneak" and break it.
What is hierarchy? Do you need to follow it? Why or why not?
I think of bosses, kings, presidents, etc. I think following it depends on the character of the authority. If I deem them worthy, sure, I follow them. If not, then I'll rebel.
What do you think of instructions? Do you use them? Could you write an instruction manual? If so, what type of instruction manual would you most likely write?
I like instructions. Shows me how to do things right. I use them for the most part unless I myself know of a better way to do it. Uh, I think I could write one perhaps. I've tried explaining things to people though through writing and it ends up confusing them. I'd rather show someone. I guess I could write instructions on, say, how to do color splash in GIMP. Like one of those WikiHow tutorials.
Please explain: "Freedom is in complying with the laws, but not in ignoring the laws"? Do you agree with the statement? Why?
I think what this means is following the rules that promote order and peacefulness. However, not ignoring the laws means that when the laws takes away rights and become dehumanizing, it's time to rebel. Do I agree with this? Sure, I suppose.
Tell us how about consistent you are?
This seems like a vague question. I suppose not very.
What is a "standard"? Why do people need it?
A standard is an expectation of how someone/something is supposed to be. I usually view the word "standard" negatively, as it sounds quite superficial.
You need to put your home library in order. How do you feel about this activity? How will you approach this task?
I feel like I don't want to do it. I probably wouldn't do it. But if I had to, I wouldn't be picky. I might, for example, group all my Star Wars movies together and in numerical order. Nothing more intricate than that.
How do you feel about this block?: It was kind of annoying. Glad it's over. 5 was interesting though.
Block II
What is work in your opinion? Why do people go to work? Are there any parameters where you can distinguish whether you can do this work or not?
Work is where you go to make money. It can be fun if you're doing something you're passionate about. But, at the end of the day, there is a job to be done. People go to work to make a living. As for parameters, it sounds like the "standards" thing. I guess if you're qualified/trained to the job that's all that matters and you aren't lazy or something.
Is there any correlation between quality and quantity? Tell us if or how the price depends on quality?
Certainly. Quantity is not equal to quantity and vice verse. If something is of higher quality, it means it works better or is rare. But sometimes more expensive does not mean better. It's all about how the product executes what it claims to or not.
How do people determine the quality of work? How do you determine such quality? How well you can determine the quality of any purchase, do you pay any attention to it?
Well, I won't speak for other people. But I distinguish it on whether or not it holds up well, does what it's supposed to, etc.
I pay attention to the quality of the things I buy. I have passed up buying many articles of clothing simply because the fabric seemed poor.
How do you feel if you didn't finish some work? Does it ever happen? What are the reasons?
Depends. A little stressed perhaps. Yeah, I often procrastinate and don't always finish my own projects but when I'm at work I make sure everything that is expected of me is completed. Reasons for not doing my own work are just laziness. I always finish at work though because there's a schedule to keep and other people shouldn't be expected to pick up for my mishaps.
What is "Interesting work" for you?
Interesting work for me might be researching a topic I'm interested in like geology. I enjoy the physical work at my barn, even mucking out stalls doesn't bother me. I don't really want to explain in detail as there isn't much detail for me to explain.
You go to the store and see something you're interested in buying; there is a price tag on it. What parameters are you going to use to understand if it's overpriced, underpriced, or priced correctly?
I examine it depending on the item. Does what it's made of seem sturdy/useful? Is it really worth the amount of money I'm about to spend? Do I really need it?
When you work and someone tells you: "You don't do it right." What is your reaction?
Feel a bit irritated with an underlying sense of inadequacy. I would step aside and let them show me how they do it. Whatever.
There is a professional right next to you. You always see that you can't perform the way they do. Your feelings, thoughts and actions?
A little jealous. I would be curious as to how they got that good. But I would assume they've been doing it for awhile and shrug it off, knowing that I'll be good at it too if I keep working.
When you have to ask someone else to help you with the task, how do you feel?
I don't like asking for help. But, when I have to, I feel kinda dumb.
You need to build a pyramid exactly like in Egypt. Your thoughts, feelings and actions?
That sounds stupid. Just go see the real thing.
How did you feel about this block?: It reminds me of my brother. He would go to town answering this section, I'm sure. I'm neutral toward it once again.
Block III
What is beauty? Do you change your opinion about beauty? Does your understanding correlate with the generally accepted notion? What goes beyond the generally accepted notion?
Beauty is something you look at and it makes you smile. Something you want to harness. I find a lot of beauty in nature. I love it. I don't really change my opinion on beauty. Beauty is subjective, so commonly accepted isn't really relevant. Generally accepted notion? Uh. I don't know.
Please describe your understanding of a beautifully dressed person. What is the core of beauty? How do you explain what is beautiful to a person who has never heard about beauty before?
Someone who's unique. Like today I saw a girl with lovely purple and blue colored hair. The core of beauty? I'm not sure how to answer that. Perhaps I don't understand. I would explain beauty to someone as I did above, beauty is something that makes you feel happy and light inside when you look at it.
Is there a template of understanding what beautiful means for everyone to use? Is there such a term as "classical beauty"? If so, what is it?
No I don't think there is a template. Beauty is subjective. I guess when I hear "classic beauty" Marilyn Monroe comes to mind.
What is comfort? What is coziness? How do you create your comfort and coziness? How do others evaluate your skill in doing so? Do you agree with them?
Comfort is when you're just relaxed. I feel cozy when I'm sitting with my pets, drinking tea, and watching some Netflix or reading a book. As for creating my own comfort, I put on some pajamas, grab something tasty and just... destress. I'm not much of a party host though, so I've never really been evaluated on it.
How do you pick your own clothes? Do you follow fashion? Why? Do you know how to select clothes for different types of figures?
I just... pick what I like and what fits me. I like "alternative" fashion. I only follow fashion trends if they are something I like anyway. And uh, as far as selecting clothes for others, sort of. I suppose.
How do you cook? Do you follow recipes? What do others think of your skill?
Cooking is kind of a burden to me. I do like to look up recipes and give them a shot. I don't cook much for other people so I wouldn't know about that.
Are you good at color patterns and mixing them and matching?
So-So. I do really like playing with them, but I don't think I'm incredibly great at this.
If someone is telling you what is beautiful and what is not, what goes with what color and what is not, do you agree with this person?
Heard this from my art teachers all the time. I would get irritated mostly because I would get bored and want to move on or just not care that much anymore. I like what I like though.
Tell us how you'd design any room, house or an office. Do you do it yourself or trust someone else to do it? Why?
I would trust myself because I want what I like. I love dark things, so I would love to decorate my house as such. My spaces would be... eclectic. A amalgamation of things I had interest in or just thought were beautiful.
How do you know if a person has bad taste? Could you give us an example? Do you always trust your own taste or do you seek opinions from others?
I don't think people have a right to tell others if they have bad taste. They should do whatever they like. I usually trust my own taste unless it's something minor as in, "do you think purple or white sheets would match the quilt?"
How do you feel about this block?: I liked it. Quite "artsy."
Block IV
Can you line up human resources and make them do things? What methods do you use? Can you press people? If so, how does it happen?
Not really. I only press people when I'm angry.
What is incursion? How do you deal with this? Can you repulse? How easy can you do it?
Incursion is a sudden attack, likely a physical one. I'm pretty reactive, so I would fight back and become aggressive. I would look around and see what I could use to fight back the attackers. I think I could do this fairly easily, but I've never been in such a situation.
What does "my people" and "strangers" mean? When do "my people" become "strangers" and why?
"My people" are my close friends and family. Those I have a bond with. Strangers are people I don't know or don't care to know. No one ever becomes a stranger once I've gotten close to them.
Are there strategies of attack? Can you use them? When is it justified?
... I don't know? This sounds like militarized tactic to me. I am adept at fighting though, I've had training. I think it's justified if provoked or action needs to be taken to prevent the other person from doing harm in some way.
Do you think it's ok to occupy someone else's territory? In what situations?
Nope. But, I'm defensive of my own territory and am quite aware of it. Funny story, a few years back I had a group of friends at youth meetings I attended and a couple new girls came and one of them seemed to try to "dominate" me, take my spot if you will. I considered myself the "alpha female" of the group and I became defensive and kind of fell into a low-key power struggle. Yeah, I came out on top. Haha.
I sound like a wolf. Cool.
What are the methods of volitional force? When is it most effective and in what situations?
... I don't know? I keep thinking of that teenager that likes to pick fights just for the sake of fighting. It's probably most effective when someone isn't expecting it.
How do you protect yourself and your interests?
I'm pretty quiet about my interests and values. But, I protect myself physically by always being prepared for a throw down if need be. I try to keep myself fit. As for my interests, people are entitled to their own but I'll get defensive if they start being very disrespectful.
Describe your behavior in the situations of opposition and if you have to use some force?
Opposition as in debate or as in a fight? In debates I'm pretty calm and try to be level headed. If I use force, I first weigh the consequences on if it's worth it or not.
Do others think of you as a strong person? Do you think you are a strong person?
Yes, other people have expressed that they view me as a strong person. Physically and mentally. I think I am a strong person in both senses. I've been through some stuff, but I've always faced it. I have always been physically strong too.
How do you understand if a person is strong? Are there any signs of a strong person? What is the core of any force? Why do people listen to one person, but not the other?
A person who is tough and gets back up when they're knocked down. Signs of a strong person I think shows through determination and willpower. Core of force? No idea. People will listen to the person who is passionate and honest. Passion seems to be a powerful thing.
How did you feel about this block?: It was fine. A bit militarized and angsty.
Block V
What is boorishness? Does your understanding of it correlate with the generally accepted notion? How would you explain what boorishness mean to a 10 year old child? How would you explain the same to an adult who does not behave ethically?
Boorishness is being loud, disrespectful, belligerent. I guess it would correlate with the common view. I would explain boorishness to a kid as in something that makes other people uncomfortable. I wouldn't explain it to an adult. That sounds ridiculous.
How would you improve the moral of the society?
I wouldn't, really. I don't care about society much.
Perhaps one thing might be to make them more accepting of things like colored hair/piercings/tattoos in the workplace and that these things do not define someone's character or work ability.
Can you justify somebody's bad behavior by thinking that he/she wasn't taught how to do so?
Depends on the bad behavior. Bad behavior as in slurping their soup or stealing something/hurting someone? For the former, that's just something that can be taught and forgiven. The latter there is no excuse for.
Give us your understanding of love. Can you love and punish at the same time?
Love is a deep caring and emotional feeling for someone. A bond. I'm not sure if I believe in true love. I think it's more so people who just "click" and are really compatible and choose to be loyal because they care for that person. You can love and punish at the same time, as in you may try to control that person for selfish reasons.
Have you heard about the Southern hospitality? Everything is for the guest. There is also a German hospitality – the master of the house is always right. What method is the right one? Try to evaluate without the weight of any cultural aspects, traditions, nations etc.
I think both are a bit extreme. Though, I think it’s important to respect another person’s home.
What is sympathy? When do you need to express it? When is it advised not to?
Sympathy is expressing misfortune for someone else's circumstance. I don't know when it NEEDS to be expressed, per se, but if someone tells me something bad has happened I may say, "I'm sorry" or something. I'm not the best with showing sympathy. As for when it's adivsed not to, I'm not entirely sure either.
Are there any norms of behavior in the society? Do you follow them? Do people always have to follow them? Why?
There are I suppose. As far as if I follow them, I'm civil. Some I don't follow. People don't always have to follow them, no, especially if they don't hurt anyone by going outside of these "norms." Most of these norms are superficial anyway.
How do you know what attitude among people is right or wrong?
Hm. How do I put this into words? I think it's about how they feel/why their attitude is this way. People think that their attitudes are right because of an experience, their logic, or just what they feel is right.
What does moral mean? What is immoral? Does your understanding correlate with the others? How can you evaluate the correctness of your own understanding?
Moral means doing the right thing. But that's rather vague, isn't it? Morality changes in each individual. However, there are some things that are WRONG. Stealing, killing, and doing harm to the innocent is non-justifiable. My understanding may not correlate with everyone, but I think most would agree. I'm not sure I understand the last statement. I just... "feel" that something is right or wrong in my bones.
Somebody is giving you a negative attitude – what is your reaction? Could you show your own negative attitude toward someone else? If so, how? Could you give a person the silent treatment? How easily do you forgive people?
As in a customer giving me a negative attitude or a family member? For the former, I remain calm. For the latter I would want to know what's up. I don't think I could give someone the silent treatment. That's rather childish, isn't it? I have a habit of "cutting people" out of my life if they do me harm. I can move on quickly once I've made my decision to do so. I've never been hung up on an ex or a false friend that's hurt me. I don't forgive easy.
How did you feel about this block?: Not bad.
Block VI
"Whole world does not cost one tear of child" – how do you understand this phrase? Do you agree with this opinion?
To me this means no one innocent should have to suffer for the masses. I agree. One injustice for many goods cannot be erased. It's like a blood stain on a white shirt.
Is it acceptable to express emotions? Give examples of inappropriate expression of emotions.
People are going to do it. But I'm uncomfortable in very emotional situations. Like if someone is crying or really angry I don't know what to do. Inappropriate I think would be throwing a rage fit in the middle of a business meeting. I personally do not like showing my emotions in public nor do I like dramatic environments.
Can you use negative emotions? In what situations?
Some people have a way of making everyone around them miserable through whining. That's annoying as hell. I don't think they should be used.
How do you express negative emotions? What does it look like? What do others think about it?
I am a bit of a hot-headed person. I rant about people. I may yell and be harsh. People say I'm pretty "direct" with my negativity.
Shallow emotions – what does it mean? Are there any other emotions?
Shallow emotions are faking emotion to get a response from someone. I also see that fake social nicety sort of talk that my mother and sister do often as irritating.
What are right or wrong emotions?
Emotions seem like something that can't be right or wrong but rather how you show them/use them. I would say hate is a wrong emotion, but how do you utilize that hatred? It can melt into passion to better yourself and turn the other cheek. Some people get happiness from hurting others, which is wrong. So, as I said, it's about how you use your emotions through action and not the emotion itself.
Can you change the emotional state of yourself? Of others? To what side – positive or negative?
No, I really can't. I feel what I feel and there's not much running from that. I've never been good at changing others emotional state like when they are sad or something outside of maybe a hug.
What does it mean to "pour out your emotions"? How does it happen?
It's... when you reach your breaking point after holding it in so you just explode. For me I get angry, or I cry. I hate when I do that, though. It makes me feel pathetic and weak. Occasionally I pour them out through writing.
Does your internal emotional state correlate with what you show externally?
Depends. Sometimes if something is really bugging me it'll show. But usually I'm capable of hiding my emotions.
Do you track what mood you are in throughout the day? Do you notice the mood of others?
I'm always aware of my emotions but... I wouldn't say I track them? I do notice the mood of others but I don't always know what to do if it's negative.
How do you feel about this block?: It was fine. Fairly easy for me to answer.
Block VII
Do you like surprises?
If they're good ones sure.
How people change? How do you feel about those changes? Can others see the changes?
People grow up I suppose. I think they may discover themselves but you don't actually CHANGE who you are on the inside. How I feel about these changes is irrelevant. Other might be able to see these changes in how you behave through your confidence level.
Is it true that whatever happens is only for the best?
I used to believe this, but I certainly don't anymore.
What do you think of horoscopes, fortune telling etc.? Do you believe in luck, lucky fortuity?
I'm fascinated by them. I study some of these practices, but a tiny voice in my head is skeptical. My curiosity gets the better of me though. I do believe in some degree of luck, yes.
Can you forecast events? Is it even real?
Perhaps. The only thing that may be certain would be, for example, you set a timer to go off in an hour. Even then, things can screw up. I keep an open mind though.
What is time? How do you feel time? Can you "kill" time? How?
Time seems to be a measure of change. Night to day, winter to spring, young to old. You can kill time by simply waiting for this sequence of changes to take place.
Is it easy for you to wait for some important event? What if you don’t know when it is supposed to happen?
Depends on the event. I get anxious if I don't know when something is going to happen. It's like that anticipation factor. I usually take things more day by day though.
Do you need help creating forecasts and determining how something will end? Do you trust those forecasts?
Uhm... I have hunches. Occasionally I'll have a pretty good idea how something will end. When I do get those hunches, they are usually negative and can drive me kinda crazy because I trust them too much.
Are you normally late? How do you react if someone is late?
I don't like being late. I get irritated if someone else is late.
Imagine the situation where you agreed to meet with someone. Your feelings and actions: a) 20 minutes before the meeting starts, b) 5 minutes before the meeting starts, c) it is time for the meeting to start, but the person is not here, d) 20 minutes after the meeting start time and the person is not here, e) more time and the person is still not here…
a) Pretty chill but excited for them to get here all the same. I would have to keep my mind busy waiting for them. b) get even more excited. They should be here any second. I hate waiting c) Be pretty anxious. Where are they? I'll give them a few more minutes d) be very, very irritated. Try to call/text them. e) Leave and be pissed.
How did you feel about this block?: It was intriguing. Kind of mystic. Talking about time is an interesting topic.
Block VIII
Is there a meaning of life? In what? Is it the same for everybody?
Yes, I definitely believe there is a meaning in life. Find what you are passionate about and pursue it. It's not the same for everybody. Some people like to live more day-by-day and their meaning it simply to enjoy. Everyone has different interests and passions.
What should be done so people can be happy?
I have no idea.
In the situations with a lot of potential and volatility will you trust your own guts, logically calculating everything or will you ask people you trust what should be done?
A bit of both. At the end of the day, I would trust my own guts those. I would carefully weigh the consequences of each and use my own judgement.
When you meet a stranger, what can you say about them right away? How do you know what this person is all about? Does it take long to understand someone's talents?
I am pretty good at figuring out what type of person I'm dealing with. I notice by the way they talk, their body language, WHAT they are talking about, and general "vibe" they give off. It doesn't take me long to figure out what people are good at.
Remember an interesting person and call out 5-6 qualities you think are interesting in them. What makes an interesting person? Are you an interesting person? Why? What if someone calls you "boring" and "not interesting"?
The person was deep, thoughtful, articulate, unique, and mystical. They are interesting because I could talk to them about anything. From silly jokes, to movies, to philosophical questions. I do think I'm an interesting person. I'm pretty open to talk about anything. If someone calls me boring I'll just shrug it off because if someone finds me boring I probably find them boring as well.
What opinions, from people who know you, seem: a) fair; b) not fair; c) hurtful; d) strange.
a) Strong
b) Judgmental
c) Selfish
d) Mysterious. (I just think it's strange that some people have viewed me as being mysterious.)
Do you fantasize? What kind of fantasies do you have?
I fantasize a lot. About love, about fictional worlds, adventure, being free, what I may do in the future.
What qualities should a person have to be successful and why?
They should have will, determination, and passion. If you set your mind to do something, you can do anything.
What qualities can stop a person from being successful and why?
Doubt, fear, and lack of determination or vision. You have to persevere and say that you CAN do it through your own force. Everyone can have will, anyone can be brave.
What is more important in life – to be a good person or be a successful one? Why? Is a good person always successful? If not, then why?
I'm going to go with being a good person. Success is subjective. Success could mean having a lot of money and having a thriving business, or it could mean having a family and being loved. Everyone has their own definition or vision. I don't like big businessmen who trample over people for power.
How did you feel about this block?: I enjoyed it. These sorts of questions are nice to discuss every once and awhile.
And that's all she wrote! Thanks for reading and giving feedback!
