Recently purchased a 1988 90 Quattro 2.3L as my apprentice project vehicle. Needed lots of electrical work but at an impasse. I cannot get this car to idle without forcing a lean condition, which then makes hot starts impossible without activating the cold start valve. Also have a fault code 2121 that won't go away. The idle switch and wires to both modules are good. Third thing is that I have an ignition problem that shuts the coil wire down approximately every 10 seconds or so. Could all this be inter related?
I've installed a new O2 sensor, Idle Stabilization Valve, Fuel Pump, and Distributor Cap. Did a re-ring job with all new gaskets and valve seals. Set timing and fixed all vacumn leaks.
I may need a replacement module (443 907 397 E KEZ) and if you've got one for sale let me know.
