Hey, people!
So, I'm gonna fill out this questionnaire as well as post a video. I'll warn you, I'm pretty darn awkward in the video and I come off as a prude (in my eyes anyway.)
Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xqmTpbJoDas
I have a touch of social anxiety and honestly making this video was not fun for me. But I know it will help! Thanks for taking the time to read/watch. Here's the questionnaire.
Block 1
1. General to specific, specific to general – what does it mean?
General is an "overview" of how to do something or a story. It's the most basic information required to understand a concept/story.
Specific is details. It's an in-depth description of how to do something or deeper information of a concept/story.
2. What does “logical” mean? What is your understanding? Do you think that it correlates with the common view?
Logic is the most efficient way to do something with minimal damage. I also think of logic as science. I believe we use logic to figure out something and puzzles come to mind.
It's also a form of common sense. Haha, I don't have much tolerance for "dumb" behavior.
3. How do you explain fractions on the dial of the clock?
I kind of see "pieces." Like, pie, perhaps?
4. What is a rule? What rules must you follow?
A rule is something set in place to prevent chaos and perhaps as guideline on how to do something. I think some rules should be followed, especially ones that prevent harm, but others, especially those that show you how to do something should be explored further.
5. What is hierarchy? Do you need to follow it? Why or why not?
A hierarchy is a header of some sort (leader, boss, etc.) and subordinates. I've got mixed feelings. I hate the thought of serving someone, but when the hierarchy is more of a "team" effort with a leader that I deem worthy then sure. I'll follow it.
6. What do you think of instructions? Do you use them? Could you write an instruction manual? If so, what type of instruction manual would you most likely write?
I follow instructions usually. Sometimes I do this weird thing where I will "skim" the instructions and attempt to do it my own way. But then I mess it up and refer to the instructions once again. LOL. I think I could write an instruction manual. Not something I'd love to do, though. Uhm, maybe instructions on how to maybe put something together or perform something.
7. Please explain: “Freedom is in complying with the laws, but not in ignoring the laws”? Do you agree with the statement? Why?
Kind of seems like a contradictory statement. How can you be totally free while having a law applied to you at the same time? What I think it means is following laws that are good, like ya know, not killing or stealing but being aware when laws become dehumanizing.
8. Tell us how consistent are you?
Ehhhh.... not very? I don't know.
9. What is a “standard”? Why do people need it?
A standard is an expectation. For the most part, I don't think people need them. They're often impossible to live up to.
10. You need to put in order your home library. How do you feel about this activity? How will you approach this task?
Eh. I don't much care for putting things in order. Uhm... Probably by genre. But, since most of books are the same genre I would pay attention to making sure the continuations go together in chronological order.
Block 2
1. What is work in your opinion? Why do people go to work? Are there any parameters where you can distinguish whether you can do this work or not?
Work is where people go to make money.
Everyone needs money.
You can do whatever work you want to. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
2. Is there any correlation between quality and quantity? Tell us if or how the price depends on quality?
Quantity doesn't always mean quality. How something performs and what is made of is the real indicator. People will put a price on something if they think they can get away with selling it higher. Doesn't mean it's better than something cheaper. Not all the time, at least.
3. How do people determine the quality of work? How do you determine such quality? How well you can determine the quality of any purchase, do you pay any attention to it?
Did you do as asked? Was the work thorough? Does it perform or hold up to what was expected? I determine the quality of, for example, a shirt by looking at the material and if it fits like it should. I won't buy something if it's shoddy. I also like to think of a purchase by saying, "okay, this item is worth ___ hours of work. Do I want this item enough to go to work for that many hours in order to pay for it?" in other words, is it really worth it?
4. How do you feel if you didn’t finish some work? Does it ever happen? What are the reasons?
Depends. If it's a personal project, I'll have no problem just coming back to it later. But if it's schoolwork or something for a job I'll feel uneasy until it's done. I procrastinate, I'll admit, but that doesn't mean I enjoy procrastinating.
5. What is “interesting work” for you? Please explain in detail.
Interesting work for me is when I'm at the barn. I don't mind mucking out stalls, cleaning tack, raking the riding arena, etc. Of course horse work and riding is my favorite, but I don't mind the other stuff one bit! Keeps me busy and doing something productive. I love caring for animals. Sure, cleaning up poo isn't always fun, but it's definitely not as dreadful for me as it would be for some people.
6. You go to the store and see something you’re interested in buying, there is a price tag on it. What parameters are you going to use to understand if it’s overpriced, underpriced, or priced correctly?
Isn't this the same question as #3? Haha. I think I answered this there.
7. When you work and someone tells you: “You don’t do it right.” What is your reaction?
Kinda hurt.... sorta? Hurt isn't the right word. Probably feel incompetent. I would say "oh..." and watch them show me how to do it correctly.
8. Right next to you there is a real professional. You always see that you can’t perform the way he does. Your feelings, thoughts and actions?
Envious. Maybe kinda bummed out. I wanna be special and be good at stuff, too! Eventually though I'd feel determination to do well myself.
However this only applies if it's something I have interest in.
9. When you have to ask someone else to help you with the task, how do you feel?
Awkward. I really don't like asking for help. Makes me feel kinda incompetent and like I'm a bother.
10. You need to build a pyramid, exactly like in Egypt. Your thoughts, feelings and actions?
.... why would you want to build a pyramid? Just go look at the real thing. No thanks.
Block 3
1. Tell us what is beauty? Do you change your opinion about beauty? Does your understanding correlate with the generally accepted notion? What goes beyond the generally accepted notion?
Beauty is... nature. Beauty is in the unusual, strange, and rare. I think some people probably agree with me saying there's beauty in nature. However, I think my perceptions of beauty are unique and bizarre to some.
But, ultimately, I think beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
2. Describe, please, your understanding of a beautifully dressed man or a woman. What is the core of beauty? How do you explain what is beautiful to a person who has never heard about beauty before?
Someone who stands out from the crowd and is unique. I love Gothic fashion, for example. It's rather unconventional. Uhm. I don't really know what the "core" of beauty is, or at least how to explain it! It's so abstract yet wonderful, beauty is. I think it's when you look at something and think "Wow..." whether it makes you happy or makes you want to own it and be a part of it somehow.
3. Is there a template of understanding what beautiful means for everyone to use? Is there such a term as “classical beauty”? If so, what is it?
I think it's what I just said. It's what you look at and it makes you happy or want it somehow. When I hear "classic beauty" Marilyn Monroe pops into my head. Also a Disney Princess. Lol.
4. What is comfort? What is coziness? How do you create your comfort and coziness? How do others evaluate your skill in doing so? Do you agree with them?
Comfort is feeling safe and provided for. Uh... I don't know how I create my own coziness really? Maybe having a treat, like hot chocolate. (Mmm. Chocolate.)
I'm not the best care-taker. I guess if someone comes over I might offer them a drink? No one has ever given me feedback on this because I don't do it much. I leave this sort of stuff to my Mum.
5. How do you pick your own clothes? Do you follow fashion? Why? Do you know how to select clothes for different types of figures?
I just pick what I like and what fits good on me. I have my own style. And ehhhh... I only follow fashion if I already like what it's presenting. And uhm, I don't know? Friends take me shopping with them and I help if I can.
6. How do you cook? Do you follow recipes? What others think about your skill?
I'm a vegetarian. Yeah, I like following recipes if I see something that looks good. I don't cook too often, so I don't know about how good my skill is on my own. Haven't really cooked for anyone else....?
7. Are you good at color patterns and mixing them and matching?
I love playing with colors. I'm not the best at patterns, though. My art teachers never liked what I did. Part of the reason I'm no longer an art major. I love it, but I don't think I'm as good as I sometimes think.
8. If someone is telling you what is beautiful and what is not, what goes with what color and what is not, do you agree with this person?
Be kinda irritated. I dealt with this a lot in my art classes. I thought art wasn't confined by these sorts of standards? So no, I don't always agree.
9. Tell us how you’d design any room, house or an office. Do you do it yourself or trust someone else to do it? Why?
I'd be that house that kids were scared to go to because they thought a witch lived there. Which would be true. I'd fill it with things I like. Crystals, dark colors, trinkets I like. Probably a Gothic/Gypsy caravan sort of look is what it would turn out to be. Eclectic.
10. How do you know if a person has bad taste? Could you give us an example? Do you always trust your own taste or do you seek opinions from others?
Everyone has their own style. I guess, to me, bad taste is just being boring or conforming to something to fit in. And yeah, I trust my own taste usually. I like what I like.
Block 4
1. Can you line up human resources and make them do things? What methods do you use? Can you press people? If so, how does it happen?
Uhm. I don't really "press" people. Depends on what I need. I kind of do the whole "hinting" thing sometimes. That's kind of.... exhausting though.
Sometimes, I just come out and straight up ask them. I hate being blunt, but sometimes I don't know of any other way.
2. What is incursion? How do you deal with this? Can you repulse? How easy can you do it?
An unexpected attack. Yes, I can fight. How easily? Probably pretty well.
3. What does “my people” and “strangers” mean? When do “my people” become “strangers” and why?
My people are my friends. They're weird like me, we get along and can talk and hang out easily. It's also my family, whom I hold close. Strangers are those I don't know and have no desire to meet with personally. Once I'm close with someone, they never really become a true stranger.
4. Are there strategies of attack? Can you use them? When is it justified?
I kind of see brute force as a strategy of attack. Words don't usually do much to people. I took martial arts, of course I can use them. It's justified when force is necessary and someone comes at you with harmful intentions.
5. Do you think it’s ok to occupy someone else’s territory? In what situations?
If they're being idiots and not handling their "territory" properly, then yes, it's perfectly okay. Though, moving in on someone's turf just to one-up yourself is a crappy thing to do.
6. What are the methods of volitional force? When is it most effective and in what situations?
Didn't #4 just ask this? Volitional force is physical attack and solid willpower. As for when it's most effective, as I said, words mean little. Use it when you have to.
7. How do you protect yourself and your interests?
I prefer to keep quiet, honestly. I don't like upsetting people when it's not necessary. But oftentimes, I yell, get harsh, and even get violent. I'll protect myself at all costs. No one screws with me. No one.
8. Describe to us your behavior in the situations of opposition and if you have to use some force?
Fight. I mean... fight. I am an unwavering person, honestly. You can't change my way of thinking. I'm pretty firm in my standpoints. If it's physically aggressive, then I'll fight. I hate to admit that I'm a violent person, but yeah... I sort of am. Should probably work on that maybe.
9. Do others think of you as a strong person? Do you think you are a strong person?
Yes. I am a strong person. I've been through some stuff and I've always made it through. I can break sometimes, but I get right back up. I often get told by others how strong I am. Both physically and mentally. I have a pretty tough exterior, but I'm not that mean. Promise.
10. How do you understand if a person is strong? Are there any signs of a strong person? What is the core of any force? Why do people listen to one person, but not the other?
Anyone can be strong. You have to have the will to not give up. Never stop fighting. The signs of a strong person is just someone who does what I just said. They push on despite everything pushing them back. The core of force is willpower and confidence. People listen to others who demonstrate that and their fire is infectious enough to encourage others that the power is within them, too.
(Sorry I don't know why that was bold. I could not turn off the bold for some reason. -_-")
Block 5
1. What is boorishness? Does your understanding of it correlate with the generally accepted notion? How would you explain to a 10 year old child what boorishness means? How would you explain the same to an adult who does not behave ethically?
It's when you're being rude. Loud and obnoxious. I would explain it as something that makes other people uncomfortable, scared, hurt, or sad. I wouldn't bother explaining it to adult. Even if they were raised by wolves they'll have some sort of ethic as an adult.
(WHY. WON'T. IT. STOP. BOLDING!?)
2. How would you improve the moral of the society?
Don't know. Society is going to do whatever they're going to do.
3. Can you justify somebody’s bad behavior by thinking that he/she wasn’t taught how to do so?
Depends. I am gonna say no, though.
4. Give us your understanding of love. Can you love and punish at the same time?
Love is... complicated. It hurts yet feels wonderful. Love is when it hurts/frightens you to think of a person being hurt or taken away from you. As far as if you can love and punish at the same time. Perhaps. "Tough love" is sometimes a necessary thing.
5. Have you heard about the Southern hospitality? Everything is for the guest. There is also a German hospitality – the master of the house is always right. What method is the right one? Try to evaluate without the weight of any cultural aspects, traditions, nations etc.
Both of these methods are flawed. If I allow someone into my house, then we will be on neutral ground I suppose. Somewhere in the middle.
6. What is sympathy? When do you need to express it? When is it advised not to?
Sympathy is feeling pity. As for expressing it... I don't know. I'm not the best at it beyond "I'm sorry." I don't know when the best time is to express it. I guess when someone is expecting it?
7. Are there any norms of behavior in the society? Do you follow them? Do people always have to follow them? Why?
Yeah. There are. It seems to vary with culture, however. I... suppose I follow them. I'm considerate of others. Sometimes, though, I think the "norms" are a bit too much and people should push the envelope. Not if it actually hurts people unnecessarily. I don't just mean offend someone, I mean actually hurts someone.
8. How do you know what attitude among people is right or wrong?
I suppose if they're going out of their way to hurt someone, that would be wrong.
9 . What does moral mean? What is immoral? Does your understanding correlate with the others? How can you evaluate the correctness of your own understanding?
Moral is right and wrong. Moral is doing what is right for justice and the good of others. Immoral is the opposite, hurting people for some sort of satisfaction in achievement of a goal or just to be unkind. Uh. Not sure how I evaluate the correctness of my understanding? I don't understand the question.
10. Somebody is giving you a negative attitude – what is your reaction? Could you show your own negative attitude toward someone else? If so, how? Could you give a person the silent treatment? How easily do you forgive people?
I work retail. I know all about people giving negative attitude. I would be kind of hurt, but I'd remain professional. I stop and think that these people don't know the real me and they're no one I'm close to, so it would only bother me to a point. As far as expressing my negative attitude toward someone, I will either come to them directly and tell them what's up or I just ignore them. Depending on the situation. I do not forgive people very easily. I may say you're forgiven, but in my head you have to give me a real reason.
Block 6
1. "Whole world does not cost one tear of child" – how do you understand this phrase? Do you agree with this opinion?
I understand this as the way to bring true peace to the world should not harm the innocent. So, letting one person starve to death in order to save the masses from hunger isn't the way to solve such a problem. I agree.
2. Is it acceptable to express emotions? Give examples of inappropriate expression of emotion.
I suppose? I'm uncomfortable with emotions, though. I mean, I actually love to laugh and goof around and stuff, but that's positive emotion. An inappropriate example would be starting to yell and get angry among a lot of people or crying just for attention.
3. Can you use negative emotions? In what situations?
I can be angry and violent, yes. I do it when someone is becoming very angry and violent at me.
4. How do you express negative emotions? What does it look like? What do others think about it?
I don't usually like to express my emotions despite being a very emotional person. I get embarrassed and feel uncomfortable. When I express negative emotions it's usually in the form of anger or irritation. I actually cry a lot, but it's ONLY IN PRIVATE. I literally can't STAND crying in front of people.
5. Shallow emotions – what does it mean? Are there any other emotions?
Emotions that aren't genuine. For example, crying just for attention.
6. What are right or wrong emotions?
I suppose hate is a wrong one. Hate is technically an emotion, right? Really, for the most part, I think emotions are just human things that tend to be in the gray area.
7. Can you change the emotional state of yourself? Of others? To what side – positive or negative?.
Nope. I can't. Either in myself or other people.
8. What does it mean to “pour out your emotions”? How does it happen?
Cry. Let it all out. Not just talking about how you feel, I mean raw feelings. Crying, punch a pillow, feeling something so strong that you can't put it into words.
9. Does your internal emotional state correlate with what you show externally?
Nah. It usually manifests as just being irritated when I'm actually sad or scared or something. It's hard for me to express sometimes what I'm really feeling.
10. Do you track what mood you are in throughout the day? Do you notice the mood of others?
Ehhh... sorta. I can usually notice the moods of others. Sometimes I'm wrong though.
Block 7
1. Do you like surprises?
Uh, sure. I suppose.
2. Tell us how people change? How do you feel about those changes? Can others see the changes?
People don't change. Seriously. People are always who they are.
3. Is it true that whatever happens is only for the best?
Hmmmm. For the most part I think everything happens for a reason.
4. What do you think of horoscopes, fortune telling etc.? Do you believe in luck, lucky fortuity?
Yes, I do actually. Horoscopes are something that I think has been butchered, though. I very much believe in psychic ability. I think luck exists to some extent.
5. Can you forecast events? Is it even real?
I think you can to a point. The world has a funny way of throwing curveballs and changing fate, though. As for if it's real, well, I think we are should always be open to anything.
6. What is time? How do you feel time? Can you “kill” time? How?
Time... is a strange and abstract thing. It's hard for us as human beings to think of an existence beyond the compounds of time. I'd like to say it was something we made up to help further understand our world. But, yet, that wouldn't make sense. Time, then, is change and growth. Night into day, water into rain, hot to cold, seed to tree. As far as killing time, I believe you can waste it but you can never kill it. Time moves on like a force that stops for no man.
7. Is it easy for you to wait for some important event? What if you don’t know when it is supposed to happen?
Nope. Not at all. Depends, though. I'm not very good at waiting for a negative event. It will weigh on my mind heavily.
8. Do you need help creating forecasts and determining how something will end? Do you trust those forecasts?
Hmmmm. Nah. Maybe in some ways? I usually trust my own forecasts for what I think will happen. Perhaps a little too much.
9. Are you normally late? How do you react if someone is late?
I hate being late and I hate when others are late, too. I would be pretty irritated if someone were late.
10. Imagine the situation where you agreed to meet with someone. Your feelings and actions:
a) 20 minutes before the meeting starts,
I'm on my way there. I'm usually early, but not that early.
b) 5 minutes before the meeting starts,
Be relieved I got there on time and look to see if the other person is there yet
c) it is time for the meeting to start, but the person is not here,
Be pretty irritated/anxious
d) 20 minutes after the meeting start time and the person is not here,
Be pissed. Try to contact them.
e) more time and the person is still not here…
Leave if they didn't answer me. Be really angry and not trust this person anymore.
(Sorry it's bolded and italicized! I can't fix it!)
Block 8
1. Is there a meaning of life? In what? Is it the same for everybody?
People have to discover their own purpose!
2. What should be done so people can be happy?
.... I don't know. I don't try to make people happy too often.
3. In the situations with a lot of potential and volatility will you trust your own guts, logically calculating everything or will you ask people you trust what should be done?
I would do both most likely. In the end I'd probably trust my gut though.
4. When you meet a stranger, what can you say about him right away? How do you know what this person is all about? Does it take long to understand someone’s talents?
I get "vibes" from people. I know if someone has ill intentions. But.... I can't say who they are as people still.
5. Remember an interesting person and call out 5-6 qualities you think are interesting in him. What would make a person not interesting? Are you an interesting person? Why? What if someone calls you “boring” and “not interesting”?
Funny, honest, unafraid to be herself, kind, unconventional, kinda dark. I think people who just "blend in" aren't all that interesting. I'd like to say I'm an interesting person, yes. If someone calls me boring then they don't know the real me.
6. What opinions, from people who know you, seem: 1) fair; 2) not fair; 3) hurtful; 4) strange.
1) Stubborn
2) Cold
3) Selfish
4) Mysterious
7. Do you fantasize? What kind of fantasies do you have?
I fantasize a lot. About love, about being free, about being unique in some way.
8. What qualities should a person have to be successful and why?
Willpower and determination. That's all you need.
9. What qualities can stop a person from being successful and why?
GIVING UP.
10. What is more important in life – to be a good person or be a successful one? Why? Is a good person always successful? If not, then why?
To be a good person IS to be successful. They will be successful if they keep trying and look at what is important in life.
