Just got home with my new A3 2.0T, I have the Nav package but not Audi Connect. Does anyone know of a work-around or method to get Text Message / SMS dictation working? I have the Messages icon but no messages seem to show up. The user manual says that dictation is only supported with Audi Connect. If anyone knows how to make this work I'd really appreciate it! Thanks!

2004 a6 hesitation
Hey guys, new to the forum and I already know I am going to spend way to much time on here!! So I just bought my first Audi, it is a 2004 a6 Quattro 3.0. the problem I am having is a one to two second hesitation coming from a full stop. I have a good friend that has a 2002 BMW who suggested I try using chevron techron as "it has additives that the Germans use". He also suggested only filling up at certain gas stations because they have the same additives. I was thinking he may be onto something with running a cleaner through it as the previous owner did not run premium through it (they only put 4000 miles on it). Could this be causing the hesitation and simply running this cleaner through it fix my issue?
Rattling Noise, someone help please.
I recently started to hear this rattling noise coming from my car when I press on the gas peddle. It only happens when i'm slightly pressing on the gas peddle or if i'm going up hill. When I accelerate and give it a lot of gas the sound goes away. It tends to happen when i'm driving at normal speed and my foot is slightly on the gas peddle. If the car is stationary there is no noise. Does someone have any idea what this might be?

2006 2.0tdi 170hp vs 2006 2.0tdi 200hp
Hi everyone,
I have been viewing cars recently and have test driven a 170Hp diesel A3 and was impressed. I was told the 200Hp Petrol 2.0T A3's were even better but when test 'driven' in one, I felt it was sluggish and didn't have the oomph of the 170 diesel. Is this the general feeling with the petrols?
Cheers!

Wanted - Audi A3 2.0TDI S Line/ Sport
Hi there,
*First post*
I'm after an Audi A3 2.0TDI, (Preferably 170Hp model). No older than 2006, but my budget only probably goes up to a 2008/9 model. Must be good condition, paint work, interior etc and no 'siren' noises etc coming from the turbo. A car I can jump straight into with no problems.
I'm after full leathers with the bose sound system, the S line spec.
If anyone's got anything, please get in touch either @ 07583153931.
Cheers!

need wiring codes (colors to pins) for mass air flow sensor 2001 Audi A4 1.8
Have four wires that are supposed to connect to 5 pin connector that plugs into Mass Air Flow sensor. Previous owner monkeyed with connector, not sure of wiring configuration. Car ran rough when connected. Currently running vehicle w/o mass air flow connected...burning rich, but running O.K. I have the original wires coming into pin from engine...one is green, one is green & yellow, one is yellow, and the last one is green and white. I am not sure what wire goes to what pin. Any idea what the correct configuration is? Left to right as plugs into MAF. Thanks!
I've never owned a performance car and I'm thinking of pulling the trigger on an RS5.
I think I know which response I'll get on this site... but I'm in the market for a new car and I'd like to drive more of a performance car. My last car was a 2009 335i sedan which I enjoyed but was happy to give back after the lease was over. It was a sedan and I regretted not getting the coupe everyday. This next car will be a coupe. For the past two years I haven't had a car (moved to the big city, took public transit) and now I want something fun to get me around as a daily driver. I plan on owning this car for the next 5+ yrs.
What I like about the RS5 coupe:
What I'm not sure about:
Let me know if I've forgotten or overlooked anything. If you like another car more, convince me to buy it instead! All comments are very appreciated!
What I like about the RS5 coupe:
- Looks ****ing amazing. I love the grill and from every angle it just looks great. I really like the interior as well.
- The AWD/Quattro because I'll be living in a place that will get plenty of snowfall. Like I said I've never owned a car like this and I don't want to kill myself.
- The noise it makes from the blown V8. I haven't test drove it yet but I have heard it before and it was awesome.
- I'll be in school during this time and I like the idea of having something that is a bit more subtle than a Porsche.
What I'm not sure about:
- It seems a bit pricey compared to some of its competition (C63 AMG, M4, Cayman S). The price itself isn't the issue but I'm wondering if I'm overlooking anything that might be within the $5-10k range that is a comparable or better car, that is worth spending a little more money on.
- Are the ceramic brakes worth it? $6k seems like a lot for something I might never use. Are they necessary for taking the car to a track (something I've never done before...)?
- Also, could any of you who have owned a similar car tell me when I could expect to start hitting maintenance issues? Like I said, I need this as a daily driver and don't want it stuck in the shop.
- Are winter tires a must? Or would all-seasons work? I'm new to this snow thing.
- Color scheme: I'm thinking Daytona Gray with a black interior, but I also like Suzuka. Any thoughts one way or the other?
Let me know if I've forgotten or overlooked anything. If you like another car more, convince me to buy it instead! All comments are very appreciated!

I recently installed a sirius module in my Q7. The module had two antenna inputs and my Q7 only had one antenna line so I utilized an antenna splitter I found on amazon. 2001 a4
Hello,
I am looking to buy an A4. I found one for $2500, 130k, runs well, but has a "random misfire" code/light on, and ABS brake light on.
No noticeable issue driving or braking. IS this a good buy, or asking for problems?
Thanks for any advice, and I hope this a good place to post this question.
I have loved these cars for a long time, and am excited to buy one.

engine knackered
i was driving my a3 1.9 tdi the other day when it made a bang noise and power steering went then engine just stopped, been told the engine has seized but it hasn't checked the belts and their all ok i don't want to try starting it just incase any ideas please ??:(
Oil in the coolant
So as the the title says i had oil in my coolant. Ive got the engine torn down now because i had someone at a local shop test my oil cooler and say is was ok. Ive checked the head gasket and it looks to be in good condition. Im curious does any think the guy at the shop may have messed up in testin the oil cooler? Is there any other possible places oil could get into the coolant? could the block be cracked? Initially the dipstick looked too be fine when i checked it before tearing the car apart. The car is a 2002 225 amu engine.
Trunk beeps and doesn't open
We had a monsoon of rain last night, and about 5am, the alarm beep starting going off. The gas cap won't stay shut(you can hear the motor cycling), and the trunk will not open unless you use the key. The key fob doesn't work either. Really need some insight on this before I contact my insurance company.

Audi TT Offroad concept packs 408 hybrid horsepower, yet returns 123 mpg
Filed under: Concept Cars, Hybrid, China, Crossover, Audi, Beijing Motor Show
Audi took the wraps of its TT Offroad Concept at the Beijing Motor Show, after teasing us with sketches earlier this month. "The Audi TT offroad concept provides a glimpse of how we might imagine a new model in the future TT family," says Prof. Dr. Ulrich Hackenberg, Member of the Board of Management for Technical Development. "It combines the sporty genes of the TT with the strengths of a compact Audi SUV."
The latest in Audi's eTron show cars reminds us an awful lot of the the Audi Allroad Shooting Brake concept that debuted a few months ago at the Detroit Auto Show. In addition to very similar physical appearances, the two share the same plug-in hybrid propulsion systems (the "plug-in" part is a bit misleading, as the concept simply needs to be parked over an inductive pad to take advantage of Audi Wireless Charging technology).
Proving that hybrid power never has to be a compromise, the TT Offroad Concept packs a 292 horsepower turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder under the hood. The combustion engine is assisted by two electric motors (rated at 40 kW at the front and 85 kW at the rear) to provide a total system output of 408 horsepower and nearly 480 pound-feet of torque. With all-wheel drive, the concept hits 60 mph in 5.2 seconds and tops out at 155 mph - while returning a provisional fuel efficiency of 123 miles per gallon equivalent.
Inside the four-place cabin is Audi's forthcoming Virtual Cockpit Technology with a customizable 12.3-inch TFT display projecting high-quality 3D graphics to the driver. Other technology includes three Audi Smart Displays, which serve as mobile infotainment systems both in and out of the car, and a cabin ionizer to remove allergens from the cabin atmosphere. And, when owners tire of driving the TT Offroad Concept, they may tool around with a 1:8-scale radio-controlled car kept in a custom storage box in the trunk.Continue reading Audi TT Offroad concept packs 408 hybrid horsepower, yet returns 123 mpg

Mattias Ekström unleashes bonkers 600-hp Audi S1 Supercar on World RX
Filed under: Motorsports, Hatchback, Audi, Racing
Mattias Ekström doesn't need to prove anything. He's won the DTM title twice and before that the Swedish Touring Car Championship. But being a racing driver as he is, Ekström has been looking for new challenges. He's contested the Swedish Rally six times, the German Rally twice, he's driven in V8 Supercars and in NASCAR. He's even won the Race of Champions. Twice. Heck, we're surprised his long-time sponsor Red Bull hasn't let him try out one of its F1 cars. But this season it's on to a new challenge: the inaugural FIA World Rallycross Championship.
Ekström drove a Volkswagen Polo fielded by Marklund Motorsport in the Swedish rallycross round last season and came in second, but this year he's diving in head-first with his own team and his own car. His outfit EKS is hard at work preparing the new Audi S1 for competition in the World RX Championship, and will field two of them this season: one for Ekström and another for JWRC champion Pontus Tidemand.
Built to compete in the top category of the championship, the EKS Audi S1 Supercar will pack a 2.0-liter turbo four with 600 horsepower, all-wheel drive and a 0-60 time of 1.9 seconds. It's expected to make its debut late in May at the World RX of Great Britain where it will have to tangle with specially prepared versions of the Citroën DS3, Ford Fiesta ST and Peugeot 208 driven by the likes of Tanner Foust, Ken Block, Jacques Villeneuve and Petter Solberg. The sole North American round will be held in Trois-Rivières, Quebec, in early August, on the same circuit that once hosted Indy Lights, ALMS, Grand-Am, Can-Am and Trans-Am races.Mattias Ekström unleashes bonkers 600-hp Audi S1 Supercar on World RX originally appeared on Autoblog on Sat, 26 Apr 2014 18:03:00 EST. :: ECS Tuning :: B5 S4 Aero Wiper Blade Conversion Kit
Tired of wiper blades that squeak and streak and don't clean your windshield? See clearly again with wiper blades from Valeo.
It's best to replace your wiper blades a few times a year to keep them in top shape. If they are chattering over your windshield, streaking, or just not cleaning as well as they should, it's time for replacement.

Squeak in wheel well when turning
So spring has begun and we've been getting a lot of rain - and I've noticed that whenever I turn the wheel (specifically left, when turning left or letting the wheel go back to straight after turning right) there is a slight squeak in the cabin, which is apparently a lot louder outside than inside. Attached is a video - any ideas??
Thanks!
Thanks!
AWE Tuning B8.5 S5 tops 93 pump fuel 1/4 mile record: 11.883 @ 116.49, full weight
We went to the track for a few full-weight runs. Then a pump-fuel record happened.
The Run
200lb driver, 74 D/A at Cecil County Dragway, April 23rd 2014, 93 octane, just under half tank of fuel. Car was at street trim, including spare, all seats – running 20” wheels, normal pressure in tires. The run was done with traction control off, using launch control.

Notes
We ran the car hard – laying down about 20 runs with no degradation between runs. Minimal breaks were had.
The S5 ran flawlessly, with the supercharger remaining “touchable” even with the shield off. We did not put any ice into the ColdFront™ Reservoir (though we could have – incredibly easy to access).
The ColdFront™ System allowed us to just keep on going – a benefit for when you’re headed up after work and want to log some runs. When we did have to wait in line, the ColdFront™ Coolant Pump allowed us to easily cycle coolant with the accessories on without wasting fuel. The Falken Azenis FK 453s grabbed incredibly well – keeping in mind these are our daily driven tires atop the Forgeline Wheels. Lastly, the G.I.A.C. DSG DL501 S-Tronic Transmission Software pulled its weight well with solid shifting.
Looking forward to hitting it again soon!

Allroad 2004 Headlight Malfunction Light on with trailer
My Allroad 2004 4.2 Headlight Malfunction Light (see pic) goes on intermittently with a small trailer hooked up to the 13-pin to 4 pin eurohitch adaptor... is there any way to turn this off or fix something I did wrong?
I wouldn't mind but everytime it comes on, it has a very loud piercing BEEEEEP which is driving me crazy!
Also as soon as you put the car in reverse the sensors just stay on... did this add on get wired improperly?

S5 B8.5: Your Take
I'm looking to buy a new or probably used refresh s5. Ive been doing some research and I know the mfr estimate for 0-60 is 4.9 but tested its more like 4.5ish. What are you guys getting? Is there a lifetime limit for launches with these cars? I know 0-60 isn't the best benchmark but I live very far from the closest track. Once I do get into tuning, I see you can flash the ecu and do the pulley swap but what else can you do? I always have to be tinkering with something... Other than that, what are your perceptions of your s4/s5. I'm also considering E90 M3, C63 AMG, and even wrx/sti.
2005 A4 Front Strut Replacement - Strut removal question
I tried searching but could not find anything. It was all ads for Blauparts.
I am going to be replacing the struts/shocks on my wife's '05 A4 Non-sport suspension quattro this weekend.
The rear shocks look easy enough from the little I've researched. My question is on the front struts. I found a DIY one one of the other Audi sites that says if your car has a lot of miles on it that it might not be a good idea to try and remove the entire suspension assembly because the crimp bolt usually seizes around the upper ball joints. It says that you can remove the plugs that are in the engine bay and just remove the spring/strut assembly that way.
Is it doable that way? I'd like to avoid any unnecessary steps and not have to remove the entire upper control arm and just remove the strut.

2.7T downpipe heat shields install
Had to take the downpipes off to get flex pipes cut out and new welded in.
Now I can't figure out how to get the heat shield back in.
Need good how-to tips.
- shove the heatshields up there first, and wiggle/push the downpipes back up?
- hang downpipes first, then shove the heatshields back up there?
- heat shields from bottom or from top of engine?

Black smoke.
I just bought a 2005 2.0tdi Audi a4 .
I noticed a lot of black smoke clouds of it on load. (none when turbo kicks in)IT is bit sluggish when cold but when warm runs great. turbo pulls fine.
engine management light came on other day i read ecu which said the following.
17057 - cylinder3glow plug circuiit (q12) electrcal fault.
16485 - mass air flow sensor (g70): implausible signal.
I reset and 3-4 days later came back on with same error.
i been told it has had a AMM fitted but this was guy i bought car off so might not be the case.
Any ideas?

Hello Everyone!
We have just developed some new parts for the North American Beetle. After countless months of development, testing and fitting, the bumper side markers for the Beetle are finally here! One of the very first mods you should consider is getting rid of the amber side markers in the front bumper, there were no solutions for that until now. These side markers are easy to replace and fit like OEM, which comes in either clear or dark smoked lenses. Manufactured with very high quality material and assembled using ultrasonic welding for maximum durability and longevity. They are also UV protected, so they will not turn yellow. Lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects to original purchaser. (Does not include return shipping charges.)
Our iOS & Android App is now available for download on the App Store and Google play ! Please download it today!

Turbo on my 1992 Audi 100 s4 stopped working
Hi all I have an 1992 Audi 100 s4 turbo, the other week I was driving and the car was all sluggish no boost.
I had no noise before hand the car drives ok no smoke or anything apart from no boost.
When to the garage plugged it into the computer and it said that the MAP sensor needs replacing, so replaced that and no difference? looked and examined all the pipes and they look ok.
no other code comes up any ideas??
cheers manj

2000 A6 2.7l crank/no start
Hey all got a 2.7L Turbo that crank but no start. Car has been my project car for quite some time, had a bad overheat on original motor with 136k on it and found a crack in cylinder 1 that I believe the previous owner had filled. Anyway I bought a used motor with 42k on it, and dropped it in. but no dice just cranked forever.
I have been waiting for the snow to melt so I could work on it more, anyway here is a list of parts I have replaced over that last 2 yrs. Been replacing things As I get the money.
Fuel Pump- went 8 months after we bought car.
Fuel Filter
Aux Water Pump- Went 6 months after we bought
6 beru coil packs/ngk plugs
2 Icm's
rebuilt drivers side turbo- had a bad oil leak.
new starter
Ross-Tech cable/license
new crank sensor
2 new cps sensor
4 new coilovers- 3 had broken/cracked coils on them.
rebuilt Intake- all new vacuum lines
On Order arriving by next monday:
Head/cam/valve cover/intake/exhaust/egr gaskets full sets.
Head bolts
Egr- Combi Valve left side as brass nipple broke off.
Injector O-ring Set- cleaning fuel rail/injectors
other misc. items bolts, shouldered nuts etc.
I have been through the car and its driving me nuts. Checked Spark a zillion times- good. checked fuel injector Pulse-Good. Compression 160+ Good. Fuel is at the injectors, although I do have a question about them. If the car sat for long period of time with fuel/moisture could the injectors get clogged by buildup that way?
Any other suggestions? I have spent a lot of time and quite a bit of money rebuilding and im about at the end of the road as far as diagnosing the issue. timing is dead on the money as well that has been verified multiple times. right now it is cam bar locked, crank pin locked, as I removed the heads to replace gaskets and do some extra cleaning of everything.

Anyone wanna give me a lil bit of there time haha?
Just curious how do these numbers look I feel like the maf readings are slightly low? Any reason why my actual boost is so much lower than requested boost at times like right at the beginning of the test before the 3000 rpm mark. I am running a k03 on apr stg. 1 tune.

Hello audi enthusiasts. I was curious to see if anyone has a b7 S4 forsale?
It has to have a dark interior and i would like a manual but would consider a automatic. show me what you have ! I'm trying to spend as little as possible.
I'm located in florida but am willing to pay to ship the car. I'm looking at around 100k miles because my budget is around 14k

2003 A4 Cabriolet Electrical Issues - Need CCM Compatibility
I'm trying to find what CCM's would work in my car.
My VIN is WAUAC48H23K07820
2003 A4 Cabriolet (convertible)
1.8T
Location: USA
The current CCM is 8H0 959 433 C
Audi says the replacement is 8H0 959 433 L
If you don't mind trying to help me diagnose my problems please read my book below:
It's my friends car and she had it parked in the garage over winter and the battery died. She had it jump started two times to move it. I installed a new battery and a lot of the electronics are not working eg windows, cruise control, horn, wipers, turn signals, top. Some stuff DOES work like radio, heated seats, brake lights, locks, info center, cabin lights, trunk release, hazzard lights and it runs. The radio can be turned on at anytime no matter if the key is in or not. My research is pointing to me needing the CCM module (comfort /convenience control module) or an ignition switch but Im not an audi mechanic but fairly mechanically inclined. I want to be sure that is whats wrong before buying it, maybe if testing is possible.
First I checked all the fuses which were fine. Tried to use the key in the door to roll up/down windows, didnt work. Looked at wiring in door jamb, looks fine. Next I pulled and looked at the CCM. the harness looked fine but I didnt tear it apart. While out I was able to get the drivers door window to roll up, none of the other windows worked though. The ccm definitely didn't look water logged, the board looked good. If holding it at an angle in the light there was some slight spot that looked like they may have been from manufacturing, almost like very small spots of glue. I reinstalled that. It was hooked up to VCDS which communicated with the engine but most of the modules including the CCM said they were not responding. There was a steering angle sensor fault, can't remember which one. I went to a local salvage yard to get a CCM and the one was yanked form the convertible so I grabbed a few from the sedans figuring it wouldn't hurt. I pulled the CCM again, opening the harness to see if the joints and wiring was ok and everything looked fine. This time the drivers window had no response when the CCM was out. I installed on of the new ccm's 8EO959433B and it was able to communicate with the module but none of the functions started working, the only difference was the hazzards flashed very fast and went slower when I depressed the hazzard switch. I installed the rest of the modules and none of them showed any functions more than mine did. When the modules are unplugged the lights go out but will go on once replaced. This is for ALL the modules including the original one.
From what I am reading my cars body style is the 8H and the sedan is 8E and the modules are not compatible. I was hoping it would at least control the windows or somthing so I can determine it is worthwhile purchasing the correct ccm compared to the salvage yard which said no problem if this one doesn't work I can take it back.
So I'm at the point where I'm stuck. I'm thinking the ccm may need replaced since it failed to communicate to VCDS but the other one did. I'm wondering if the other modules besides the CCM are bad since they didn't respond or if the ccm could cause this. Lastly can I just update the coding of the 8EO module to make some functions work in the car or do I need an 8H module? I have access to the VCDS to recode the new modules if it may help.
Thanks for taking the time to read this. Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks,
John

Adaptive Air Suspension
Can someone describe this option:
Adaptive Air Suspension
- Includes 4-corner adjustable air suspension with 5 suspension settings.
Are there settings for tighter handling - like a sport mode?
Can I raise the car for a little "off-roading"?
Thanks.

Hello people of the b7 forum!
I am pretty new to the audi forum since I am mainly a VW guy.
Currently my wife has an 04 cabriolet a4 with the cvt. we have had nothing but problems with the cvt and long story short, we need to get rid of it. The transmission is shot and a new one is not worth the hassle. So we are looking to trade it. The car only has 75,000 and the trans is gone. Very frustrating.
We have been fighting with Audi of America to have the transmission repaired under warranty, but they have declined it multiple times.
We are looking to trade our car for a 2008 a4 cabriolet with 74,000 miles. It is awd so it does not has the cvt. I do have my concerns though. I do not know a lot about audi, what problems are typical for a car like this? What should I expect to have to replace soon? Anything typically wear out prematurely on these? As in inder 150,000 miles?
Any advie is much appreciated! Thank you!

Bentley
Ordered the Bentley service manual only to find it has zero info about anything past the head covers. Nothing about cam chains etc. The $12 service manual I got somewhere else has more detailed info. I wanted a book I could take outside to the car not another " cuss word omitted" DVD that costs the same as a book but that I have to print myself....five pages at a time.
2013 Q7 or New 2014 Q7 - BEST PRICES?
I have a 2013 A4 and I love it. I am now selling my FJ Cruiser to buy a Q7. Initially I had planned to buy a low mileage 2013 S-Line, but after doing tons of price shopping it looks like a used 2013 with 15K miles is only about $5000-$7000 cheaper than a new one.
What type of discounting is a good discount on a new 2014 Q7? I am looking for one with S-Line Prestige (both interior and exterior), and the Technology package.
Q: will dealers match the carsdirect discount shown on the internet?
I was hoping to get a 2013 for low $50's, but sellers are holding firm on price of $58K or so for the used ones I like. If I have to pay $58K, why not buy new?
Thanks!!

I was hoping to get a 2013 for low $50's, but sellers are holding firm on price of $58K or so for the used ones I like. If I have to pay $58K, why not buy new?
Thanks!!
