Will upgrade from old iphone to new ipod speed up MMI?

I am using an old iPhone 3 as a music player connected to the MMI in the glove compartment. The MMI seems slow takes time to scroll through iTunes menus.



Would upgrading to a current iPod, which may have a flash drive, make the MMI faster or is the Audi itself the factor that limits the speed?
