Have been noticing that the rear discs on my car have been looking dull n color. Not shiny as the front rotors. The rear pads are prolly 8-10mnths old, no super crazy amount of driving on them. Pads actually still had some meat on thm.
Here is my problem, have been noticing when in reverse-the brakes have really been grabbing pretty hard(feels like the tires are locking up), forward braking is flawless. Well....got to work today (drove perfectly fine the whole way to work, approx 10miles from my driveway). Pulled into my parking spot, wasn't straight so I had to reverse and correct. Put vehicle n reverse and in started to back up then it jus stopped. Like the e brake was on, or the caliper was stuck. I gave it a little bit of gas to try and encourage it to loosen.....broke what looks like the front side pad off the car. Its lay n under my car right now in the parking lot. My question is....do you think the vehicle will be safe to drive home tonight? Im gona jus buy a while new caliper and rotor anyway onn payday, so caliper n rotor damage dnt really mattr rite now. Thnx n advance gyys
