rim and tyre fitment

hi guys. um was told earlier in the year that my MK1 tt Quattro could fit 17x9 et35 all the way around. and cut a long story short they wont fit. they are hitting on the strut.



can the problem be fixed and how? im running 225/45 tyres aswell if that helps
