Driver side door speakers very low volume. Help!

My driver side speakers, especially the lower door speakers are outputting very low volume compared to the passenger side. No, its not the balance ****. At first I thought it was only the drivers door speaker, so I tore the door apart, checked the speaker, took it apart, and it appears to be ok. checked it with a multimeter and it tests at 2 ohms, which is normal. All wires also look brand new including the door connector. Only after I tore the drivers door apart did I decide to sit in the back of the car. Sounds like absolute crap back there too. Lower door speaker also very low volume on drive side compared to passenger side. Its almost like all the mid-range speakers on the driver side arn't getting enough juice. Audio in the car sounds extremely unbalanced. I checked the radio/mmi fuse in the passenger fuse box as well as the radio/mmi and digital audio system fuses in the trunk fuse box. What the heck is going on.. I'm stumped. Help!
