A6 windshield wiper fluid sensor

I have a 2010 A6 and the Windshield wiper fluid sensor is not working- it comes on every time I start the car even though there is enough fluid in the reservoir. The dealer wants to charge me $250 to replace it- is there a way of disabling it? Thanks.
